This Weeks Bread: German Rye Sourdough Polenta Sourdough Country Sourdough
Thank you all for the well wishes, kind words and even soup in my bread box!! You really know how to make me feel better! It was the first time in all these years that I had to call off a bake day and it was a good reminder that a one person operation really has its limitations and it might be time for a helper here really soon. Thanks for understanding! I am back on my feet and baking for tomorrows market. This weekend was a good one to be home sick since the San Francisco Baking Institute was hosting a live baking broadcast with some of my very favorite bakers. It was so fun and inspiring to get to watch these highly accomplished bakers perform their craft in front of the camera for people to watch all over the world. Bread baking is such an art form and it takes so much intuition and most of the steps are performed within certain guidelines but in the end it always comes down to what the dough feels and acts like and seeing masters at work was a real joy! Hands that have shaped thousands of loaves in their lives really make it look like an art form. Beautiful and inspiring!
